Press Release: JangoMail Takes Lead in Delivering Runner Updates During NYC Half-Marathon New York Road Runners (NYRR) Use Leading Email Service Provider to Deliver Thousands of Email Alerts New York, NY - March 23, 2010 - JangoMail (www.jangomail.com), an industry leader in permission-based email marketing, announced it was again chosen by New York Road Runners (NYRR) to manage the delivery of email updates on athletes participating in its NYC Half-Marathon held Sunday, March 21. By working with JangoMail, NYRR ensured delivery of more than 31,000 emails to family, friends and other fans who subscribed to receive runner statuses in real-time. Past races have resulted in as many as 300,000+ email alerts delivered via JangoMail within the span of three hours. Prior mass email attempts to reach spectators without JangoMail resulted in delays and blocking issues associated with the policies of various consumer Internet service providers. With JangoMail, NYRR was able to distribute their emails with 99.9 percent deliverability. "In years past, even though our recipients had signed up to receive our email alerts, we had problems getting them through," said Damen Ting Chan, IT director at New York Road Runners. "With JangoMail's SMTP service, spectators can follow their favorite runner's progress because our status updates are getting through to them - quickly and en masse." NYRR's races draw as many as 45,000 participants, 6,000 volunteers and 2 million spectators. "We love working with New York Road Runners, because we're able to show just how valuable email can be when you know it's being delivered reliably and on time," said JangoMail Founder and CEO Ajay Goel.
