This video shows you how to configure the JangoMail SMTP Relay for use with a Desktop Email Program.

  1. Click Settings. Then click SMTP Relay in the left navigation.
  2. Click the Authenticate by From Address button.
  3. Enter the From Address from which you will be sending SMTP Relay emails and then click Add New From Address.
  4. Configure the Desktop Email Program that you will be using. In this video, we will configure Thunderbird. Your email program may be slightly different.
  5. Click Tools then Account Settings.
  6. Click Outgoing Server (SMTP) on the left. Then click Add.
  7. For Description enter jangomail.
  8. For Server Name enter relay.jangosmtp.net.
  9. For User Name enter your JangoMail user name. You will be prompted for your JangoMail password later.
  10. Click OK and then Set Default on the right.
  11. Go back to the list on the left and click the top heading.
  12. Under Outgoing Server (SMTP) on the right, select jangomail and then click OK.
  13. Begin composing an email. When you send it, it should be sent by the JangoMail SMTP Relay Service. When sending, make sure to send an HTML version of your email to enable tracking features.
  14. When you are prompted for your password, enter your JangoMail password.
  15. After the email has been sent, you can track the results using JangoMail's reporting. Click Reports.
  16. Click Transactional Emails.
  17. Click Actions. This will list your Transactional Emails and show the Clicks and Opens.
