RSS to Mass Email

With JangoMail's RSS to Email feature, JangoMail will monitor your blog and automatically send a mass email to your subscribers whenever a new article is posted. The JangoMail RSS Email Campaign generator supports RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0, and Atom formatted feeds.  Chances are, your blog's feed conforms to one of these standards.

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.  Most blogs publish an RSS feed, an XML-based document containing your blog's content.  This feed allows outside services like JangoMail to monitor it, and take action whenever a new post is published.  As an example, the feed for the JangoMail In Progress blog is here: http://blog.jangomail.com/rss.xml. Blogs publish RSS feeds, but other content sources publish RSS feeds too, like news publications and your website's shopping cart system.

Why JangoMail's RSS to Email tool?

There are lots of RSS-to-Email tools available, but JangoMail's feature is unique because you:

  • *Get the same advanced analytics and tracking on your RSS-to-email campaigns as you do with your regular mass email campaigns, including open tracking, click tracking, email-client tracking, integration with Google Analytics, and more.
  • *Choose to have your blog posts sent to an entire Email List, a segment of an Email List, or to a set of recipients from your web database, pulled in real-time via a SQL query.

Setup Steps

For detailed setup instructions, see our blog post entitled JangoMail: RSS to Email Campaigns.  There are two basic steps to setting up JangoMail to work with your RSS feed:

  1. Create an RSS email template under the Send Email tab.
